    TUTORIAL #1 (15-20 minutes) 

    Introduction to CHIME: Tutorial on 3D Structure of DNA.



    EXERCISE  #1  (15 minutes)

    The image shown in the exercise questions is a truncated screen shot from “A. Double Helix by Element: base pairs, hydrogen bonding”, of the DNA tutorial. The questions refer to the image.

    Go to the DNA tutorial on your "Protein Explorer" screen. Use the button controls and your mouse to manipulate the model in order to answer the questions.

    1. Open the   Save the web page to your desktop.
    2. Launch Microsoft Word. Open the web page from inside the Word application.
    3. Save as a Microsoft Word file. Type your answers into the document, 
    4. E-mail your answers as a Microsoft Word attachment, or hand in  a hard copy, as directed by the Instructor.

    TUTORIAL #2 (15-20 minutes) 

    CHIME Presentation on Structure and Function of Hemoglobin


    EXERCISE #2  (20-40 minutes)

    Go to the tutorial on “Hemoglobin and Heme” by Eric Martz at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. To take screenshots, hold down the following keys simultaneously: fn : alt : prt sc. Then past the screen shot into your Microsoft Word document..

    1. Open the   Save the web page to your desktop.
    2. Launch Microsoft Word. Open the web page from inside the Word application.
    3. Save as a Microsoft Word file. Type your answers into the document, 
    4. E-mail your answers as a Microsoft Word document, or hand in  a hard copy, as directed by the Instructor.

    TUTORIAL #3 (15-20 minutes)

    1. Open the   Save the web page to your desktop.
