Information for Groups

For UVM Students and Faculty

Body

Students and faculty utilize our diverse collections for research and coursework across various disciplines. From art history to environmental science, the Fleming Museum serves as a dynamic space for dialogue, research, and critical thinking.

In addition to instructor-led tours of the galleries, faculty may plan class visits in our Learning Studio, where they and their students can explore objects not currently on view. While the Learning Studio can accommodate up to 20 students at a time, larger classes may split up and rotate through other galleries during the visit. Students and faculty may also request to view objects for their own studies. If you want help identifying objects in the collection relevant to your class topic, make a note on the request form. Please make your request at least four weeks in advance.

Bring your students for an enriching experience at the museum! Group visits encourage close observation and discussion, fostering connections to subjects like language arts, social studies, and science. Students emerge as curious observers and inspired thinkers. Grab one of our themed gallery guides or a scavenger hunt at our Visitor Services desk to make your visit even more interactive.

For Community Groups

Body

Community groups and lifelong learners are invited to explore the museum at their own pace. During self-guided experiences, participants can engage with our collections, ask questions, and reflect on the significance of art and history in their lives. To make the most out of your visit, consider planning to view the galleries before or after one of our upcoming events.
