The Board of Trustees of University of Vermont is conducting a global search for the institution’s next president. Please reference this site for information and updates about the search.

The Board has appointed a search advisory committee co-chaired by Trustee Ron Lumbra and Trustee Cynthia Barnhart. The Board has selected search firm Isaacson, Miller to assist the committee with identifying and vetting candidates.

Here you will find periodic updates on the search including opportunities for community input and materials currently in development.


Presidential Finalist Dr. Marlene Tromp will meet with the UVM Community in an open forum Wednesday, March 18, at 3 p.m. in the Silver Maple Ballroom in the Dudley H. Davis Center.

Dr. Marlene Tromp Named Finalist

On Monday, March 17, 2025, the University of Vermont announced the finalist in its search for its next president. Dr. Tromp will be on campus interviewing on March 18 and 19.
