CA PARTY Well, we had a WONDERFUL TIME at the CA party.  It was so great  meeting those I had met in Biloxi and at Keller.  And it was super  meeting new people in Romoland I hadn't met before.  Danielle and George were just FANTASTIC hosts.  There was so much to see and do.  I actually WON one of the dollar raffles.....this was a raffle that Mo was working, not the one that Karen Pee did.   Did anyone tell you all about Karen Pee doing the auctions/raffles???  She was so great and sooooooooooo funny.  Mo was kind enough to toss her winning ticket when she pulled it out, pulling another ticket.  I actually was walking around earlier in the day selling raffle tickets(ME, the shy one!) for one of the quilt raffles....so didn't buy one myself, but I surely wanted to win.  There were so many wonderful items available.  And then there were so many other things to buy. I have a treasure trove of things to fly back home with me tomorrow. The hardest thing was watching Cruz go off with Lisa Neal....sure miss that boy.  I got him for a bed buddy one night...sigh.  I sure miss him.  I miss my Nettie and the other kids, too. If you ever go to a cairn party, you will want to go to the next one, as we have so much fun.  I got to watch Scruffy getting stripped.  He was NOT a happy camper, and so went to sit behind everyone after he was allowed to get off the table.  Poor guy, but he looks so good now.  I got special pics of him biting that $45 rubber chicken in the butt....Marsha St. John won the chicken in the auction.  I asked her why she would pay $45 for a rubber chicken that NOW doesn't squeak...she said "for the kids".  Gotta love her. I got to meet so many of our CP kids, from Zoya to Baylee.  There were some kids who will never make to the website as they were adopted (well, at least one that I can think of), and some who we all wish we could adopt.  There were some kids that we've always wanted to meet and did.  AND I got to meet Danielle and George's kids, including Tanzy the Mouth who is absolutely beautiful (and mouthy, lol). Sandy in CA (hahahah, soon back in TX) Tue, 17 May 2005 OH OH, forgot to menntion.....if you go to a cairn party, sometimes you are lucky enough to see your previous foster....a foster that was adopted and their parents bring them to one of the cairn parties.  I got to see my very special foster, Reiver, who was adopted by Bill and Jan Starks after meeting him in Biloxi.  Reiver is still the cutest and sweetest thing you ever could hope to pull from a shelter and foster.  Danielle talked about how such a good kid he is, and Reiver really is one of those that you hope to find.  Reiver clearly landed in high cotton with the Starks, and I am so happy for him.
