Richard joined the Office of Institutional Research & Assessment in the summer of 2023. Rich's role will be leading the assessment of general education and program-level student outcomes. Rich previously served as the Coordinator of Assessment & Program Review at Nassau Community College (Long Island, NY) where he was also a Professor in the Physical Sciences where he taught courses in Climatology, Meteorology, and Environmental Science.
Rich earned his Ph.D. in Science Education at Stony Brook University where he focused on the impact that science and mathematics coursework has on the persistence and completion rates of STEM and non-STEM Community College Students. He holds a master's degree in Secondary Education - Physics from Adelphi University and a bachelor's in Meteorology from the Pennsylvania State University. Rich also has completed several certificates in Assessment and Assessment Leadership from the SUNY Council on Assessment and completed the Peer Reviewer training from the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
