Kate Cowles is a senior lecturer specializing in the Early Childhood Education (PreK-3) licensure program. Her teaching includes courses on Culturally Responsive Education, Preschool Curriculum Development, and Children's Literature & Literacy. In addition to her teaching role, she also serves as Student Internship Supervisor.
In 2013, Kate began working as a mentor teacher at UVM’s Campus Children’s School. She accepted a position as a full-time lecturer in the Department of Education in 2016.
Kate shares her work by presenting at venues such as the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Professional Learning Institute, the Vermont Association for the Education of Young Children (VAEYC) Early Childhood Conference and Retreat, and the Vermont Early Learning Standards (VELS) Institute.
