We are excited to offer our undergraduate and graduate students a variety of programs for developing identity, belonging, civic engagement and community. Explore a few of our offerings listed below. Look for these and other opportunities, events and activities we will advertise.
CESS CommuniTEA
Adjusting to university life and finding a sense of community can be difficult for many first-time first-year students. CommuniTEA is designed to help students develop a sense of identity, place, civic engagement, and community within CESS, UVM, the Burlington community, and Vermont as a whole.
BIPOC CESS Connect
Cultivating, examining, and holding on to one's culture and identity can be a challenge for BIPOC students when attending a predominantly white institution (PWI). This program is aimed at centering BIPOC identities and intentionally supporting BIPOC students to feel comfortable and confident.
CESS First-Gen Collective
The shift from high school to university is a hard transition for many students, especially for students who are the first in their families to do so. The CESS First-Gen Collective is aimed at ensuring that first-gen students develop skills, access resources, and find a supportive community.
