Asian Americans between Black and White: Racial Justice or Just Us?

How are Asian Americans positioning themselves in relation to the color line, which was first defined by W. E. B. Du Bois? Through this multimedia presentation, Dr. OiYan Poon will engage the audience with complex questions about the state of racial politics in the U.S., highlighting the ways Asian Americans have asserted their voices in national conflicts over race and racism in historical and contemporary cases of public policy debates. What is the role of non-Black people of color like Asian Americans in the evolution of racial politics in the U.S.? The presentation concludes with a call for the collective development of a revolutionary consciousness for racial justice.
