Trees in the U.S. are often twisted and commonly used as Christmas trees. Needles are generally 2 per fascicle, about 2" long, rigid, twisted, and usually bluish-green. Cones are about 2" long, and ovoid with a minute spine. Apophysis is often pyrimidal.
