A large tree found in the mountain of S. Oregon to Baja CA and very similar to P. ponderosa Crushed needles have a distinctive odor and buds are without resin droplets. Needles are similar to P. ponderosa but are blue-green and twisted. Cones are about 8" long, and ovoid with an umbo with a long, stout, incurved spine.
