Plant Identification
A common ornamental tree restricted to the central Rockies. Needles are about 1" long, may or may not be bluish with glaucous bloom, very sharp pointed with a sharp pungent taste, and borne at nearly right angles to the twig. Twigs are glabrous. Cones are about 3-1/2" long, cylindrical, and light brown with thin, flexible scales with a narrow, erose apex.
