Plant Identification
A tree found on moist sites from northern New England northwest across Canada to Alaska. Needles are about 1/2" long, blue-green, glaucous, more or less fetid when crushed, and less pricky than P. rubens. Twigs are brown-gray, glabrous, and often glaucous. Cones are 2" long, entire, and cylindric, with scales thin and flexible.
