Dear Friends:
The United States Society for Ecological Economics (USSEE) is holding its fourth biennial conference next June in New York City. Partnering with Pace University's Institute for Environmental and Regional Studies, the meeting theme is "Creating Sustainability Within Our Midst: Challenges for the 21st Century." The conference will offer a variety of themes and special symposia featuring our collective interests as well as regional issues and amenities.
The conference will have sessions on many timely topics, including (in alphabetical order): biodiversity; climate change; ecosystem services; education in ecological economics and sustainability; energy and peak oil; estuaries/Hudson River/New York Harbor; fisheries/forestry; green entrepreneurship; greening the building industry (green buildings, addressing sprawl); population concerns; scale issues; and valuation methods. We are currently soliciting special symposia and anticipate these will cover topics that will overlap well with these.
We are seeking underwriting for this conference, and would be honored by your financial support. Suggested levels of sponsorship are:
- One World: $15,000 and above
- Golden Eagle: $10,000 to $14,999
- Silver Salmon: $5,000 to $9,999
- Green Sustainer: $2,500 to $4,999
- Sand Dollar: $1,000 to $2,499
- Pennyroyal: $500 to $999
The USSEE is a 501 (c)(3) organization; all donations are tax deductible. Thank you for your consideration. Your help will ensure a productive, exciting meeting for all.
