Transportation to and from Santiago and the Hotel Colonial
is available by multiple public means, including:
- Local and express gua guas
(small public buses) from the stop just across the street, with routes
a few times an hour to points north, including Navarete (with
connections to Puerto Plata), Esperanza, Mao, and Dajabon.
- Taxi cabs anytime of the day or
night.
- Public car
routes (also known as Conchos) to points throughout the city for 10
pesos per trip.
- Caribe Tours bus lines to
Puerto Plata, Sosua, Santo Domingo, Dajabon, and many other
destinations.
- And by motorcycle taxi ... but
be careful.
Santiago is serviced by the Cibao International Airport
(STI), with daily flights to the United States by Continental,
American, Delta, and Jet Blue. A taxicab from the Hotel Colonial
to the airport is about 20-30 minutes.
We are also happy to arrange a private gua gua (small bus) or mini-van
for your group's transportation needs.
