Santiago
is the Dominican Republic's second largest city, located in the North
Central region of the country and central to the beaches of Puerto
Plata and Sosua on the north coast, the mountains and waterfalls of
Jarabacoa, 155 km from the capital of Santo Domingo, and on route to
Dajabon, the northern border crossing to Haiti. We are home to
the popular Monument of Heroes of the Restoration (El Monumento), the Aguilas baseball team, numerous museums
on Dominican folklore, history, art and culture, and a number of
universities including the Pontificia Universidad
Católica Madre y Maestra.
