The University of Vermont is preparing an engaging series of programs and events during Earth Week, an annual tradition surrounding Earth Day that celebrates our planet and explores our critical relationships with the natural environment.
The Office of Sustainability’s Eco-Reps have organized and partnered on an exciting line up of offerings with students in mind:
Climate Activism Panel – 4/14, 5:30-7 p.m., Kalkin 007 | Want to be inspired to participate in climate activism in your community? The RSENR Student Advisory Board and Eco-Reps will be hosting a climate activism panel featuring local environmental experts, including our alumni. Meet our activist panel and learn from their experiences! Dinner will be provided.
Eco Fair – 4/15, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Davis Center Atrium | This is an interactive fair featuring UVM and community partners with missions focused on waste, transportation, food, and other sustainability issues. This year’s fair will feature SGA’s Swap Shop, free herb starters (BYO container), block printing (BYO garment to print on), trivia games, bike maintenance demos, taste tests, raffles, stickers and other giveaways.
Bike to Breakfast - 4/16, 8-9:30 a.m., Davis Center Atrium | Pedal your bike over to the Davis Center for a free breakfast, courtesy of the UVM Dining & Eco-Reps. Use pedal power to mix your own smoothie, grab a muffin and learn about UVM’s sustainable food and transportation options.
Rooted: Easing Climate Anxiety Through Community and Nature - 4/17, 2-4 p.m., Redstone Pines | If climate change feels overwhelming, you’re not alone. Join the Eco-Reps for a gathering where we’ll step into nature, connect with others, and explore ways to transform climate concerns into meaningful action.
Vermont Climate Action Plan Input Session – 4/21, 5:30-6:30 p.m., MAT 112 | The Vermont Climate Action Office wants to know what student’s climate priorities are. Come learn about the plan and share your input. It will be considered when revising the Vermont Climate Action Plan this summer. No prior knowledge necessary.

Many other partners have organized events aligned with UVM’s Planetary Health Initiative and all are open the entire campus community.
Nature’s Daily Dose Daily Practices for Personal Wellbeing and Planetary Health - 4/17, 12:30-1:30 p.m., Osher Center | Join the Osher Center for a lunchtime workshop and treats. The workshop provides an opportunity for participants to engage in a nature-based expressive arts experience.
UVM Planetary Health Initiative Celebrates Earth Day – 4/22, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Davis Center Silver Maple Ballroom | Do you remember when hundreds of first-year students were wearing Oura rings? Come learn about the intriguing health patterns uncovered through UVM's Lived Experiences Measured Using Rings Study (LEMURS). We'll break into small groups to discuss the study's findings, and how we can apply them to better our community. There will be donuts to continue the Planetary Health tradition!
UVM Planetary Health Initiative Flash Talks – 4/25, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., Waterman Memorial Lounge | Round out Earth Week and Research Week with the Planetary Health Initiative Flash Talks featuring planetary health researchers from across the university. Nibbles and time to connect with fascinating colleagues will be provided.
