E-waste, Batteries and Bulbs | Office of Sustainability | The University of Vermont(title)

Computers and electronics equipment include mobile devices, media storage devices, CD's, videotape, old floppy disks and hard drives, cell phones and accessories, iPods, tablets, printer cartridges and toner bottles.

Many of these items contain valuable (and sometimes toxic) components such as heavy metal, wire, plastic that should not be disposed of in a landfill, and can often be recycled into new resources.  We ship these materials to a vendor Good Point Recycling in Middlebury VT for proper recycling.

These items should not be disposed of in trash or recycling bins.

Techno Trash Collection Boxes

Please bring items to one of the Techno Trash collection boxes found in over 20 buildings on campus, including every residence all, the Davis Center and Howe Library. The boxes also accept batteries and compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs for proper recycling. Consult the map below for a location nearest you.

If you have a large amount of techno-trash to dispose of, submit a Planon Service Request to Custodial/Recycling for extra pickup.
