FAQs

What are we looking for?
Body

UVM Program Board (UPB) is committed to social justice, environmental sustainability, and inclusivity, and these values are reflected in our programming, as well as our members. UPB students should be open to growth and demonstrate a commitment to learning in these areas.

We are looking for students who will be dedicated to serving the UVM community through fun and engaging programming efforts. While prior event planning/management experience is helpful, it’s not a necessity. More importantly, we seek out good organizational and communication skills, a strong work-ethic, and positive energy.

What positions are available?
Body

Structurally, UVM Program Board (UPB) is divided into three teams, Planning, Production, and Marketing. The Planning Team helps plan, promote, and execute events throughout the semester. The Production Team helps staff these events, and often acts as the face of UPB; and the marketing team posts on social media, helps planning committees design posters, and helps spread the word about our events.

What is the time commitment?
Body

All UVM Program Board staff members must commit to bi-weekly UPB Team meetings on Mondays at 8PM.

Planning Team members must attend a weekly 1-hour committee meeting and typically spend an additional 4  hours a week planning their events.  Planning committees are expected to be present at their own events and to support all  UPB committees during our signature events.

Production Team members must commit to minimum of 20 hours a month (about 4-5 events). Shifts are assigned based on weekly availability.

The Marketing Committee is responsible for branding and marketing UPB events through the use of social media, posters, flyers, promotional items, and giveaways.

What is the compensation?
Body

UVM Program Board positions are hourly paid leadership experiences. More details about compensation will be available later in the spring.

Who can apply?
Body

Current UVM students in good academic and judicial standing may apply. A minimum 2.5 GPA is required. You do NOT need federal work-study for this position.
