Date/Time:
Wednesday, July 17, 2024 - 8:30am to 12:00pm
Location:

Who: Participation is open to any interested stormwater practitioners, such as designers, maintenance professionals, engineers, agency staff, contractors, municipal staff, and students. Registration will be first come, first serve and space is limited to 25 people.

What: The Lake Champlain Sea Grant Green Infrastructure Collaborative is partnering with the Town of Essex and City of Essex Junction to host a Green Stormwater Infrastructure Site Visit Day. We will meet with stormwater managers and researchers for this event to view several stormwater management practices and discuss maintenance considerations and lessons learned.

Where: We will visit gravel wetlands and sand filter projects. We will meet at the Essex Town offices and then visit two gravel wetlands and three sand filter projects. Two of these projects, a gravel wetland on Fairview Dr. and a sand filter on Acorn St., have both been monitored for several years to assess their field performance. Results from these research studies will be discussed on the tour.
