Burlington Wastewater Treatment Plant Tour

Date/Time:
Tuesday, September 24, 2024 - 5:00pm to 6:30pm
Location:
53 Lavalley Ln, Burlington, VT 05401 (Main Treatment Plant)

Please join Lake Champlain Sea Grant and the Burlington Department of Water Resources for a tour of the Burlington Main Wastewater Treatment Plant. Discover how stormwater affects our combined sewer system and learn about Burlington’s ongoing efforts to prevent combined sewer overflows. We’ll also explore upcoming projects aimed at protecting Lake Champlain and discuss practical steps you can take to care for our community’s water resources.

The tour will include time outdoors and time in buildings where treatment equipment is operating. The outdoor component is accessible to wheelchairs and strollers while the treatment buildings require up to 5 stairs to access. Plan on being outside for about an hour and a half, so dress for the weather and wear closed-toe shoes if you wish to go inside the treatment buildings.

Register in advance.
