Seminar Details:

Yolanda Chen is a Professor in the Department of Agriculture, Landscape, and Environment at the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. A leader in her field, she is a dedicated mentor and a driving force behind efforts to increase diversity at UVM. In 2020, Yolanda and her PhD student, Erika Bueno, became the first UVM student-advisor pair to be awarded the prestigious Gilliam Fellowship for Advanced Study by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI).

In this workshop, Yolanda will draw on her extensive mentorship experience and utilize the Science Careers IDP (Individual Development Plan) framework, developed by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), to guide PhD students in using creative strategies to build their skills.

All UVM grad students welcome! Snacks will be provided.
