Curriculum

The Certificate of Graduate Study in Global and Environmental Health is an 18-credit, one-year online program. 

Among the highlights:

  • Four required courses (12 credits), as well as two elective courses (6 credits) from a relevant area of your choosing
  • The four core courses are:
    • PH 6040 Environmental Public Health I (3 credits)
    • PH 6080 Environmental Public Health II (3 credits)
    • PH 6020 Epidemiology (3 credits)
    • PH 6110 Global Public Health (3 credits)
  • Students choose two courses from topical electives
  • Courses taught by faculty experts from UVM’s College of Medicine, the Vermont Department of Health, and experts trained at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
  • Individualized academic advising
  • Courses offered during Spring, Fall, and Summer terms to ensure that you can fit the program into your work or academic schedule
