HR Partners advise leaders on policy and contract interpretation, performance management, organizational structure, labor relations, and more. Our team approach to problem solving produces results that further the goals and objectives of each unit.

About HR Partners

HR Partners collaborate with leadership in their assigned areas to provide proactive, strategic guidance and identify potential risks to the University. They serve as HR experts with a focus on HR best practices, and provide guidance on policies, handbooks, and collective bargaining agreements. They advocate for employees and for management and foster accountability. They advise on organizational structure and collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence, the Office of Equal Opportunity, Payroll, and the Office of General Counsel.

HR Partners work in partnership with unit leadership to:

  • Identify creative outcomes to benefit employees and the University
  • Identify and provide training on HR best practices and policy/contractual obligations, in partnership with Talent Development
  • Guide leaders through performance management and performance improvement efforts
  • Support employee investigations
  • Advise on reorganizations, managing change, and integrating new leadership
  • Adhere to principles of due process, fair notice, and accountability for managers and employees
  • Hold grievance meetings and help draft grievance responses
  • Guide management in disciplinary actions
  • Cultivating strong partnerships with union leadership though discussing issues and exploring solutions
