Below is a list of the different groups at UVM and links to their respective handbooks, collective bargaining agreements, or policies that oversee and explain the benefits, expectations, and rights specific to those affiliated employees. Larner College of Medicine Faculty

Body

The Larner College of Medicine (LCOM) Faculty handbook contains policies and provisions governing the appointment and employment of faculty of the LCOM. For policies or provisions governing employment and employment benefits not outlined in this handbook, faculty should refer to the UVM non-union staff handbook.

New England Police Benevolent Association (Formerly Teamsters)

Body

As of November 25, 2024, the New England Benevolent Police Association (NEBPA) is the exclusive bargaining representative for all full-time and regular part-time police officers, police sergeants, service officers, and dispatchers employed by the University.

UVM and NEPBA agree that the terms and conditions of employees represented by NEPBA will continue to be governed by the Current CBA until UVM and NEPBA negotiate a successor agreement.

Non-Union Employees

Body

The Non-Union Employee Handbook applies to full-time and regular part-time non-union employees at UVM.

Postdoctoral Associates and Fellows

Body

Post-doctoral associates and fellows terms and conditions of employment, compensation, and benefits are contained in Post-Doctoral Employee Guidelines and Benefits policy document.

Temporary Employees

Body

Temporary employees have employee status with The University of Vermont. However, their terms and conditions of employment, compensation, and benefits are separate and independent from those of faculty, staff, and officers of administration and are contained within the Temporary Employees & Paid Non-Employees Policy.Temporary Employees & Paid Non-Employees Policy (PDF)

United Academics - Full Time Faculty

Body

The United Academics FT Faculty contract applies to full-time faculty employed by UVM as described in Article 1 of the United Academics FT Faculty contract.

United Academics - Part Time Faculty

Body

The United Academics PT contract applies to part-time Lecturers employed by UVM as described in Article 1 of the United Academics PT Unit contract.

UVM Graduate Students United

Body

Graduate Students have recently formed a union. Until a new contract is bargained and ratified, policies and processes will remain status quo.

The UVM Staff United contract applies to full-time and regular part-time clerical, specialized, technical, and professional staff at UVM, as described in Article 1 and Appendix A of the Staff United contract.
