Each spring, the Physical Plant department performs an annual shutdown of the Main Campus District Energy Plant and satellite boilers to complete mandatory equipment and safety inspections and to perform critical maintenance repairs on the campus thermal energy distribution system.
The 2025 Annual Maintenance Shutdown
Begins Sunday, May 18, 2025 at 1:00 pm
The shutdown impacts the heating, cooling and hot water system in many campus buildings. The detailed schedule of impacts will be published in the week leading up to UVM Commencement. The shutdown process typically begins immediately after the Commencement Ceremony has ended and usually lasts up to one week.
