The dean serves as the chief academic and administrative officer of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences (CNHS) at the University of Vermont, advancing the college’s mission across education, research, and service. Working closely with the provost, university leadership, faculty, staff, students, and community partners, the dean guides CNHS in addressing critical health challenges in Vermont and beyond.
The Office of the Dean provides strategic leadership to strengthen academic programs, expand research, and support student success. It oversees academic affairs, including curriculum and accreditation; supports faculty research and scholarship; and advances faculty recruitment, development, and promotion.
The office also prioritizes student success through academic support, experiential learning, and career preparation, while fostering clinical and community partnerships that extend CNHS’s impact. Through coordinated strategy and planning aligned with UVM’s mission, the Office of the Dean promotes innovation in teaching, scholarship, and practice to improve health outcomes across the region.
