WELCOME TO THE UVM EVENT SAFETY PAGE

This page is used during large events, such as commencement and the celebrations that occur at the end of the academic year, to communicate information in an emergency or unusual circumstance such as hazardous weather, the evacuation of a building, or other similar occurence.  In the event of an emergency or unusual circumstance the safety operations center will post updates here for attendees and others to stay informed.  Alerts may also be sent via our CatAlert mass notification system.  This page has been developed as not all attendees at our events receive CatAlerts and is only active during large events.

In an emergency on campus dial 802-656-3473 or 911.

For UVM staff working Commencement or other large events, please download CATSafe (see below) to enable direct texting of information to the Safety Operations Center.  During the 2023 Commencement event, there is a button on the CATSafe homescreen titled "Commencement Safety."

For all affiliates and visitors, below you will find links to other safety resources.  Please download our CATSAFE app (powered by LiveSafe) to enable several safety features and access safety information.  Among the features of CATSafe is the ability to text information to the safety operations center and police services at all times.
