P.aeruginosa

P.aeruginosa is a Gram-negative bacillus with a single flagellum. It is a non-lactose-fermenter on MacConkeys agar. It can produce blue, yellow or brown pigment when grown on laboratouy media. It has a grape like oder. It is oxidase positive. P.aeruginosa is found in the enviroment, water source eg. hospital respirators and humidifiers. It is a cause of wound infections, urinary tract infections and sepsis.
