Similar to P. strobus, but a western species found in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in CA, north to BC, and east into the Inland Empire. Needles are 5 per fascicle and similar to P. strobus, but slightly shorter. Cones are about 8" long and cylindrical with thin scales.
