    A medium-sized, tolerant tree in the Pacific Northwest region (OR to AK) with durable wood. It is a commercially important species and can be found at higher elevations in OR and WA. Leaves are similar to C. thyoides, but 1/8" long, sharp, and less often glandular. Cones are similar to C. thyoides, but 1/2", and woody with scales terminating in an erect boss.
