    An ornamental in the northern states that is native to Europe. Note: S. babylonica is a common ornamental in the central states and differs in that it has brown rather than gold-colored twigs. Leaves are up to 4" in length and are finely-serrate with sharp leaf contrast. Twigs are gold-colored and bark is similar to that of S. nigra.
