    A medium-sized, ornamental, short-lived, columnar tree native to Europe. It is a cultivar of the Italian poplar consisting of only male trees (propagated by cuttings). Leaves are 2-4", finely serrate margins, and deltoid with flattened petioles. Twigs are glabrous, initially orange, and becoming gray. Buds are glabrous. Bark is similar to other Populus.
