500 St. Paul Street

This home was constructed around 1855 by Captain Almus Truman. Truman was a founder of the Methodist Church in Burlington and at his retirement in the 1880's was the oldest captain o the lake. Truman was the captain of the Washington, Little Westery and Winooski.1 In 1890 Almus's son James was residing at 500 St. Paul Street.2
