UVM Information Technology Executive Council Proposal:

Intensely Web: A Faculty Practicum

Object: To provide faculty with technology partners to help them integrate Internet technologies into specific classes.

Many faculty see the World Wide Web as the technology that finally begins to fulfill some of the promises of computing: pervasive, engaging, generalizable, easy. However, given current teaching and research burdens it is not always easy to make time to explore and learn how the Web works, how it can be used in a specific class, and how it can benefit students.

This proposal suggests a one week, intensive practicum focusing on integrating Internet technologies into specific existing or proposed courses. As follow-up to the practicum, CIT staff would work as ongoing partners with practicum participants and their students.
