For my project, I worked with Anthony McInnis and Matt Beam on an energy audit of the Aiken Ecomachine. I collected model numbers and run times of each appliance in the Ecolab and Ecomachine. From here I calculated energy consumption per appliance. With the help of Ravi Parikh who gave me the average rate UVM pays per kWh for electricity, I calculated the cost of these appliances per day. From here I extrapolated weekly, monthly and annual energy and monetary costs.

For a final product I wrote a white paper that includes how much of the energy produced by the solar panels at spear street site it would take to offset the energy consumption of the Aiken Ecomachine to bring the building even closer to net zero. In addition, I performed some system maintenance such as collecting water samples from around Burlington to reseed the bacteria cultures in the systems, and physical pruning and pest removal.
