The Vermont Sustainable Heating Initiative (VSHI) is a really dynamic organization looking into the ethics of forest sustainability from an energy perspective.  I am a founding member of the organization and ENSC 195 was a great opportunity to get credit for working with an organization I regularly help.  VSHI has been around since 2008 promoting pellet heating and pellet production in Vermont.  To date VSHI has facilitated the installation of 18 pellet stoves in low-income housing in Vermont through their pilot program and completed a feasibility study on Pellet Manufacturing in Chittenden County, Vermont.

Any internship would likely be spent working on these things.  ItŐd be best to call or email us both to find out what we will be up to that semester/summer.  My internship was spent doing many different things from meeting with Senator Ginny Lyons to propose legislation, to submitting information to writers for legislation to researching cooperative business models to researching electric generation from biomass.  We also were apart of a pro-biomass video submission to the Vermont Energy Independence Day Film.
