Hebrew 2 - Lesson 31

Lesson 31 introduces an interesting concept that can be viewed in two ways:

1)Sentences without a subject.

2)Sentences with a subject imbedded in the verb. Such sentences always use verb form of masculine plural.

Sentences with no verb are used in the following cases: Describing a phenomena: people don't smoke here. Or in cold countries people drink hot soup. When the subject is not important: "They" are paving a road here. In cases such as road directions. People ride bus # 9, and they get off at the bus stop near the school.
What's the way to remove sweat spots? Wash the cloths with cold water and leave in the sink with a little bit of laundry detergent.

What's the way to rehabilitate tennis balls? Let them flow in a bawl with very hot water, and after a few minutes a miracle happens: the balls round and fill with air in the "missing" places. The trick works only on balls that were squeezed during a game and have no cracks.

How do you shine a baking pan? Put it in boiling water, add a third of a dishes cleaning detergent, and if things really bad add a cup of white vinegar. After an hour (exactly) rinse underneath the tap with miledly warm water and remove the resedu.
