Kol
The Hebrew word "Kol" translates to three different terms in
in English: "All of", "Each" (or every), The "Entire" (or the whole). Lesson #15 uses examples of the use of "Kol" as All.
In order to understand better what kind of "Kol" is it that being used, one can look at a
a number of parameters. That is the number of the item/s that is/are being quantified and is the definite article applied or not.
In this lesson the item is used in the plural form and, the definite article is used. The conclusion is that "Kol" bears the meaning of "All of"
Makir
The Hebrew word "Makir" translates to the English verb "know". Opposite to the previous comment, this time it is an English word that bears two different meanings.
Makir (know) is used as a verb to convey familiarity with people and places.
Yodea (lesson # 12.) (know) is used as a verb to convey
knowledge of an issue or subject of study or language and so forth.
