A Taize Prayer Service consists of music, song, chant, scriptural readings, meditation, and prayers around the cross. Taize originated in Bergundy, France by an ecumenical, monastic community led by Brother Rodger
Taize started in the Burlington area in February 1995 after a visit by Sister Suzanne Toolan, MSM (author of the popular liturgical song, "I Am the Bread of Life".) Since then, Taize services have been held at 7:00pm at The Catholic Center at UVM on the First Friday from September through December, and February through May. The services last approximately 75 minutes. For current information: 802-862-8403
