Turn Off Auto-Complete

Outlook 2003 prioritizes “auto-complete” entries by putting your most frequent contacts at the top of the list when you’re addressing a new message. Still, if inappropriate addresses often pop up, you can turn the feature off entirely to stop email from being misdirected accidentally. To turn off the Suggest Names feature, click Tools, Options, Preferences, then E-mail Options. Select Advanced E-mail Options and deselect the option reading Suggest Names While Completing To, Cc, And Bcc Fields. (Note that you can also manually delete suggested names on a case-by-case basis by selecting them when they pop up and pressing the DELETE key.)
