To set the delay between when Outlook checks your server for mail, select Tools, Send/ Receive, Send/Receive Settings, and Define Send/Receive Groups. Under When Outlook Is Online, check the Schedule An Automatic Send/Receive Every box and insert the time (in minutes) you’d like Outlook to wait between send and receive actions. Check the item Perform An Automatic Send/Receive When Exiting if you’d like to make sure any lingering email messages in your Outlook are delivered before you quit the application.
