Blocking And Unblocking Images

By default, Outlook 2003 prevents images from loading when they are linked from the Web and not embedded in the document. Why? Spammers use these images to verify that you have read their message; they can tell that you have opened the message by their log files. (Some image files, called “web bugs,” are tiny and invisible.) With Outlook 2003, images that are neither embedded nor trusted will be replaced with red Xs. If you want to view an embedded image for any reason, click the gray InfoBar (which will read “To help protect your privacy, Outlook blocked some images or other external content in this message.”) and select Show Blocked Content. Note that images are blocked again each time you close and reopen a message.
