2000 Hello from Boston to UVM’s Millennium Class! My name is Sara Kinnamon. From now on, I will be the author of our class notes, so please submit your updates to me. I would like to begin my first-ever column with a special thank you to Maren Christensen for her Y2K column-writing efforts for the past three years. Thanks, Maren! Now for my update: After graduation, I took six months off to paint and read and prepare to start my job. Most of that time was spent in Paris. I returned to the States in time to start work in November 2000. I have been with the same firm since then and work is going well. I am still running. I have competed for the Greater Boston Track Club, completed my first marathon, ran some road races, and did a few triathlons over the last few years. My big news: I recently got engaged to my UVM engineering study buddy Oliver Fritsch. Oliver and I are hoping that many of our UVM roommates, classmates, and teammates will be able to make it to our New Year’s wedding in Burlington. Katie Kelly is working at Goodwin Proctor LLP as their legal recruiting coordinator. Katie is happily engaged to Darin Day. They are planning a July 2004 wedding in Vermont. Matt Bloomer is living in Boston. He is a big Red Sox fan, and he’s my source for Red Sox tickets. Matt is trying to decide which law school to attend this fall. He plans to stay in Boston. Jeff Gavin wrote, “Life here in California has been good. I just got a summer internship with Hillerich and Bradesby (the makers of Louisville Hockey) designing and manufacturing composite hockey sticks. Other than that, I will finish my master’s in material science and engineering here at Stanford next March, and I hope to be working with Hillerich Bradesby after that.” Rusty Japikse wrote that he moved to the UK in 2001 and is pursuing a PhD. His research focus is on engineering design within the aerospace industry. In his spare time he is involved in rowing for his college, Wolfson. Before going to England, he traveled and improved his photography. Jay Carpenter is working with his family in starting an import business. He lives in Boston but spends lots of time on the road. He’s always looking to catch up with UVM alumni and would love to receive email messages at jaycarpenter@hotmail.com. Mollie Monahan is working on a PhD in college student personnel at the University of Maryland in College Park. She also works as the university’s sexual assault prevention coordinator.

2001 For this update, Katie Breer wrote that she is still working for GE in Connecticut, and she is about to graduate the FMP program. Sloane Berrent is working in the marketing department, practice support, at Ernst and Young in Boston. Katherine Dwyer wrote that she is also living in Boston with Courtney Cronce ’02, and she has a “fun” job in marketing for stuff@night magazine. They see a lot of Margaret Shaw ’00, who is working hard to finish up her first year of law school. She lives downtown with Emily Sheets ’00. Another Boston resident, Jared Schuler, works in project management for an IT firm. Benjamin Keeler is living in Washington, D.C., and working as a 7th and 10th grade history teacher at the Field School. He often runs into Nicole Burroughs. Kate Goodchild graduated from East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C., with a master’s degree in physical therapy in May. She will have two clinical affiliations after that, one in Lancaster, S.C., and one in Raleigh, N.C. She recently passed the National Athletic Training exam to become a certified athletic trainer. Kate has continued running and playing intramural soccer. Her team won the championship. She ran a half-marathon in Myrtle Beach, S.C., last February. Hope to hear from everyone else soon.

2002 Class of 2002, we all deserve a big congratulations. We have officially completed our first full year of “the real world.” From what I hear, it has treated many of you very well. Nick Campisi is working as a cytogenic technician at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. He also informed me that Jess Krick and Claudia Silva are living together in Cambridge. Jess is working as a marketing sales coordinator at Database Publishing Group, and Claudia is an account coordinator with Weber Shandwick Worldwide. Boston’s booming healthcare industry has opened many job opportunities for the class of ’02. Roommates Lori Maillox and Kendra Lawley are working at different hospitals as registered nurses. Lori is working at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in cardio-thoracic surgery, and Kendra works in orthopedic/general surgery at Children’s Hospital. Andrea Barber and Elizabeth Pecoraro are also living together in Boston. Andrea is a physical therapist at Beth Israel Deaconness, and Elizabeth is working at Medical Information Technologies (Meditech) in Framingham, Mass., as an applications specialist. Jaclyn Haley and David Maguire are working together as paralegals at the Boston law firm of Cetrulo and Capone. I recently spoke with Rebecca Count, who is also living in Boston. She is working at Dalia Kitchen Design as the manager of purchasing. She informed me that David Levin has joined other UVM alums at Sunlife Insurance. Well, that’s all for now.
