Hi, everyone. I hope spring is on its way to wherever you are. I also hope it will show up soon in the Northwest. I have a tip for any skiers—try to make it out this way to Whistler/Blackcomb resort in British Columbia sometime. I took a winter ski trip there and found it amazing. Sure beats Sugarbush, although there is much to be said for Vermont skiing, of course. OK, on to the news…I’ll start with the emails. I recently heard from an old senior class council friend, Sandy Sanders, who lives in the South End of Boston, where he is a portfolio assistant at Evergreen Investments. Also in South Boston, Miguel Roque works at Price Waterhouse Coopers and is still a strong alternate for the local WWF club, despite recently suffering “an injury from a wrestler named ‘The Great Hambino’ while he performed his death-defying move, the Ham Drop, on me.” On the other side of the country, I heard from Jeramie Wright, who recently was promoted to account executive at InfoSpace.com, Inc. Rebecca Hill and Dana Stokes ’97 are roommates. Rebecca is working at Palace Press, and Dana is continuing her education. They have built a house there, and both have fulfilling jobs, Amy, as an RN at Mount Ascutney Hospital, where she recently finished an ICU course, and Kevin as a supervisor at TimKen Aerospace. In other class news…Theresa Schnapp accepted a position right after graduation with AmeriCorps in Phoenix, Ariz., where she worked in their literacy program. After her year-and-a-half commitment was completed, she moved to Flagstaff to continue working on a master’s degree in ESL at the University of Northern Arizona, which she expects to complete by the summer of 1999. Peter Yee is in sunny Kaneohe, Hawaii, and is happy to find other UVMers on the rock as well, including Rondee Lum ’94 and Bill Montgomery ’94. Peter is married now and has a daughter, Emily, born October 13, 1998. Laura Engelken and Rachel Bauman ’95 celebrated their commitment ceremony on August 1, 1998, in Santa Cruz, Calif. Former UVM campus minister Roddy O’Neal Cleary officiated. Laura and Rachel both work in student affairs at the University of California, Santa Cruz. As for me, I’m enjoying live in Seattle. I am still at the same travel publishing company, where I am now editor of two publications. It’s hectic, but satisfying. I’m just looking forward to another summer in the Northwest, full of hiking and trips into the mountains. I hope you all have a great spring and early summer. Looking forward to hearing from you.
