Research Interests
Emily completed her undergraduate studies in chemistry, physics, and mathematics at SUNY Geneseo, working with Prof. Jeff Peterson on semiconducting nanocrystals called quantum dots. Emily was drawn to physical chemistry research because of how it combines the subjects she studied, and she’s excited about the opportunity to combine experimental and theoretical techniques within the Ruggiero Group.
Originally from Saratoga Springs, New York, Emily was drawn to Burlington because of the location and opportunities for outdoor activities. During her undergraduate career, she was involved in a number of activities, including being a member of the Geneseo Dance Team, contributing to the annual Relay for Life, and two STEM research groups, one in chemistry studying nanoparticles and another in physics studying sustainable batteries.
Stay tuned for lots of exciting developments from Emily!
