Dr. Matthew Price Receives Provost's Award for Excellence

SOCKS Health Team member Matthew Price, PhD is one of two awardees for the newly-created Provost's Award for Excellence in Doctoral Mentoring. The award, developed in collaboration between the Graduate College and the Provost's Office at the University of Vermont (UVM), celebrates excellent in the mentoring of PhD students.
 
Dr. Price is recognized for exemplary doctoral mentoring in clinical psychology. His focus on student-centered mentorship has allowed students to pursue diverse post-PhD work across many different fields, including academia, clinical practices, and industry. The director of UVM's Clinical Psychology Training Program, Dr. Price provides one-on-one mentorship and a focus on building essential skills in research, grant writing, and communications. Many of Dr. Price's mentees continue to seek his guidance even after their graduation.
 
The nomination process for the Provost's Award for Excellence in Doctoral Mentoring requires support from the nominee's peers, including a letter of nomination and three letters of support.
