Vermont EPSCoR held an online science communications workshop courtesy of the Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science on January 7, 2026. The workshop marked the twelfth yearly collaboration between Vermont EPSCoR and the Alda Center and provided an opportunity for the researchers in attendance to communicate their science to a wide audience.
The three-hour online essentials workshop provided 16 participants exercises to sharpen their messages and communicate important facts about their research to those not directly engaged in their scientific field.
Vermont EPSCoR began offering these workshops in 2015, when Alan Alda visited the University of Vermont to kick off the effort. In years since, the workshops have taken place both online and in person for audiences with a wide range of scientific experiences.
