Summary:
This report summarizes the results of a survey of Vermont restoration practitioners exploring the existing and projected demand for locally-sourced native seedlings over the next 5-10 years. It represents the first step in a project led by the Watershed Forestry Partnership (WFP) and the US Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS) to address native tree and shrub stock shortfalls in Vermont.
Key points:

- Nurseries are unprepared to support this increase at their current capacity
- There is a range of opportunities available to address supply needs for restoration work
