Summer 2024 Stormwater Education Methods

Following the “Soaking up Stormwater” curriculum course participants will engage in hands-on activities to better understand what stormwater is and how it impacts local waterways.

Teachers will explore connections to their classrooms, campuses, and curricula. Course activities include visiting green stormwater infrastructure (GSI) sites with GSI professionals and engaging in scientific experiments that they can take back to the classroom. The course takes place over two days (June 20 and 21, 2024), with two additional webinars (June 25, 4-5 PM and July 1, 3-5 PM) for those who opt to take it for the graduate credit. The course introduces participants to the Soaking Up Stormwater curriculum through hands-on place-based learning. All participants will receive a printed copy of the curriculum.
