About Ben Kalinkowitz

For the past 15 years, I have been a practicing physical therapist with a focus on complex and chronic issues.  I have worked with patients in both the public and private sectors.  In this time, I have also tackled multiple projects to improve healthcare access, most notably creating a team to provide integrated multidisciplinary chronic pain care with an eye toward decreasing opioid use.

My research focuses on the role of healthcare providers in addressing healthcare delivery disparities, as well as the causes and challenges of provider burnout.

Community Engagement

In addition to physical therapy-specific association work, I am active in public health initiatives in my local community.  I was appointed to my municipal Board of Health in 2020, and currently serve as Vice President.  I have worked to draft and pass the Board’s first by-laws, collaborated with the Board of Education during the COVID-19 pandemic, and now sit on the Cannabis Exploratory Committee, helping to plan for local implementation of New Jersey’s recent legalization law.
